Picture is very clear if you are at the native resolution of 1600 X 900, at lower resolution the picture isn't great (to be expected). As for the speakers on the monitor, they are just alright but nothing wonderful (any bought set would be a bit bitter, but they are a nice bonus if you're in a crunch for room). This review is from: HP W2072a 20-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor (Personal Computers) I bought a pair these to augment my laptop running Windows 7. I don't due anything with my PC that requires a high end monitor so these HP' did the trick. I didn't want any size bigger than 20" since they would take up too much space.FYI: My current setup is to place my open 15" laptop in the center with its screen on and using the laptop's keyboard. Then one monitor is placed on each side of the laptop's screen. Works nice then with 3 screens at 1600 x 900. Another setup is to use Control Panel to shut off the laptop screen and set the laptop to do nothing when the lid is closed. Then close the laptop and put it aside. Place the two monitors side by side and use an auxiliary keyboard in front of them.
